Cameroon's World-Class Critical Minerals Opportunity
An American-backed initiative to finally develop one of the largest undeveloped nickel-cobalt deposits globally.
Nkamouna is one of the largest undeveloped nickel-cobalt projects globally, located in the Haut Nyong Division, East Province of Cameroon. Over USD $120 million has been invested in the project under past ownership, including USD $40 million by the Cameroonian government through its sovereign wealth fund.
American Renaissance Minerals (ARM), a consortium formed by a private equity firm and a publicly traded entity together with local partner Codias, is proposing to finally develop Nkamouna. The initiative is supported by the U.S. Government, including advocacy from the Department of Commerce and the State Department as well as financial pathways and US Government offtake.
ARM has negotiated with the prior owners of the license the use of all historical data, saving many years of work.
The project represents a unique convergence of strategic interests: securing Western critical-mineral supply chains, advancing Cameroon's mining sector, and delivering responsible resource development backed by American technical expertise and capital and offtake.
DPA Title III application submitted to secure critical mineral supply chains for U.S. national defense.
Active advocacy from the U.S. Department of Commerce and State Department supporting ARM's bid and negotiations with Cameroonian authorities.
Countering Chinese dominance in critical minerals. Nkamouna provides a Western-aligned, responsibly sourced alternative for cobalt and nickel.
